Life Updates:
So, here I am in Eastern Washington, desiccating in the dry heat and looking for a job that is both legal and safe. Within those parameters, I'll do most anything at this point.
I'm off to BYU-Idaho in January (and what a fun time of year that will be to be in southern Idaho). I visited my college last week while en route to Utah for a family reunion... let's just say that I won't hate it. I might not like it and I'll do everything I can to get out after two years and go someplace I'd actually like, but it won't be that bad for the time being... and the town looks fun too. (And a year's tuition is 3200 dollars. Not to mention I got a half-tuition scholarship for the first year.) But still, watch Napoleon Dynamite for a good idea of what the environment looks like.
I've got to get 90 credits to transfer to UW. This is going to be difficult, especially because I'll have to take all kinds of weird specific classes and probably do summer independent study or something. Or I could transfer to BYU-Utah, because we visited there too and it looks much more attractive than the last time I saw it. But that's still my second choice.
Obligatory Trilogy of Doom updates:
The Trilogy is now a Duology (or whatever). I wisely decided that I didn't have enough material for 3 books and put all the really important stuff from the second book into the first and third, because the second book was 80% crappy filler anyway.
Also, it's in a slightly steampunk-flavored setting now, in a time period vaguely resembling the early 1800s. (Mostly because they had the best outfits, but also because it still is kind of romantic and un-Industrialized, yet I get to put in cool things like cannons.) I have added lots of extra drama, angsty romance, character development, and anti-heroes. I hope I can pull it off. Also, zombies. Lots of zombies and much opium, and formerly wimpy characters who are now badass. Like Matteo. Matteo gets awesome, when he was sort of a loser before.
Yay.
